I Tried These Artificial Fall Hanging Baskets—Here’s How They Look in Real Life

Why We Tried Artificial Fall Hanging Baskets

Every year, we deck out our house with beautiful hanging baskets from our local greenhouse, and every year, I spend way more than my budget allows. This fall, I wanted hanging flowers to mix with our usual mums and cornstalks, but our greenhouse doesn’t sell fall hanging baskets.

We’d had our eye on these faux baskets for a while, so we decided to take a chance. If we could reuse them for a few seasons while still buying our mums and cornstalks locally, it felt like a win-win.

How Easy Are They to Assemble?

The hanging baskets were very easy to assemble. The hanging basket set came with everything we needed. You simply place the Styrofoam insert into the basket, start placing the flower stems into the foam, and fluff each branch as you go. After that, attach the chain and hook and hang it where you want it.

Each basket took us about 5–7 minutes. I’d definitely take an extra minute to fluff and position the flowers rather than judging them straight out of the box. That made a big difference in how full ours looked.

One thing we noticed right away is that the baskets are lightweight. If yours will be hanging in an exposed spot, I’d consider adding a few small rocks or another little bit of weight to the basket to help keep it in place.

Do These Artificial Hanging Baskets Actually Look Real?

This was the question I cared about most. From several feet away? I think they look great.

Once ours were assembled, fluffed, and hanging outside, I was honestly surprised by how pretty they looked. If you’re specifically looking for realistic artificial hanging baskets or artificial fall flowers for outside, this is the part that impressed me most: they give us the color we wanted without looking cheap from the yard.

Still testing: They’ve already been through some rain and wind, including the storm that knocked one basket down, but we still want more time before judging long-term weather resistance. We’ll update this review after they’ve spent more time outside and we’ve seen how they handle colder temperatures and frost.

Are They Worth It?

So far, yes these hanging baskets are absolutely worth the money. We went into this purchase knowing we were taking a gamble, and these exceeded our expectations and then some.

If they hold up well enough to come back out next fall, I’ll be even happier with the purchase. That’s when the value becomes especially compelling for us compared with buying new live hanging baskets every year.
